Alfredo Morelos is one of the hottest talking points in Scottish football and he rarely evades the headlines for any significant length of time.
Arguably Rangers’ most talented footballer, the Colombia international’s blend of flair and ill-discipline have seen him criticised in the media on a regular basis, and he has once again been targeted more than two weeks after he was sent off in the Old Firm derby.
Bill Leckie, a journalist who writes for the Scottish Sun, has delivered a scathing attack on the prolific striker, labelling him a waster in what can only be described as a malicious attempt to undermine his ability.
The player has already managed to score a whopping 28 goals this season, providing Steven Gerrard with a vital weapon in the club’s bid to end Celtic’s dominance in the SPFL.
In response to the report, fans turned out in their numbers to amplify their disgust at Leckie’s article, with one fan suggesting the narrative would take on a completely different tone if he played for Celtic.
This article is beyond a personal attack it’s a disgrace!!!

The treatment of Morelos in this country is disgusting. If he played for the bheast he’d be worth £100m!

What an embarrassment

These two fans, meanwhile, alluded to a potentially racist agenda against the 23-year-old hitman.
On December 31st 2019, The Athletic’s Rangers correspondent Jordan Campbell claimed that there is a “racist and xenophobic underbelly to the abuse and analysis” surrounding Morelos.
Is there a nationwide agenda against Morelos?
That is an opinion seemingly shared by sections of the Ibrox faithful.
Down right racism…

2 weeks on and our young, black, foreign, hugely talented striker is still being vilified in the media, in a way that I genuinely cannot recall anyone ever being vilified before. Why? He’s certainly not the worst and the incessant vitriol is really becoming quite sinister.

This fan, meanwhile, claimed Leckie is fortunate to be employed as a sports writer such is the extent to which he disagrees with the fresh take on Morelos.
And this guy actually has a job as a sports writer. My word.

Finally, one fan tagged GuinessWorldRecords and asked them to confirm that the meltdown from Rangers’ Old Firm victory has extended to a record-breaking length of time.
Tensions are beginning to boil over in Glasgow as the rivalry between Scotland’s behemoths intensifies ahead of what promises to be an exciting season finale.
Day 14 since celtic lost the oldfirm at home and the melt down continues @GWR can we confirm this as a new record?
